Beauty of Sight , formerly known as Florida Lions Eye Bank, was founded in 1962 as a cooperative effort between the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and the Lions Clubs of Florida. Created to recover and distribute eye tissue for sight-saving transplant surgery; today, we do so much more, including processing tissue for specialized specific layer corneal transplants, preparing personalized serum eye drops for patients throughout Florida, operating the state's only dedicated ocular pathology lab and spearheading innovative ophthalmic research.

To continue our commitment to delivering the highest-quality ophthalmic services and pioneering groundbreaking research, we are constructing a new facility just two blocks from our home. Plans for the facility include world-class GMP laboratories and processing rooms, a state-of-the-art education and training center, and a dedicated research space. Our new home will allow us to expand our programs dedicated to restoring sight and accelerate our research on developing new treatments and cures for ophthalmic diseases.
